Rock climbing is a popular pastime in Krabi and the limestone cliffs in the area seem to have been created by nature for this very purpose. This is a good place to start for the novice. There are fixed ropes to assist you at the steeper points. Entrance is from the south end of either Railey East or Phra Nang beach.

The limestone cliffs that make the Krabi landscape are a haven for rock- climbing fans. Over 650 routes have developed since the late 1980's when Krabi first witnessed the sight of people scaling its craggy mountains.

Routes follow limestone crags, steep, pocketed walls, overhangs and hanging stalactites. Some are accessible by boat while others are approached via a jungle walk or by abseiling above the sea.

Their climbing gear is readily available for hire, if you don't want to bring your own or don't have any.
